The GRNDHOUSE Story

GRNDHOUSE was founded in 2021 by well-known London coaches Louis Rennocks, Jay Copley, Connor Minney, Nik Naidoo and Izy George. The founding team had a shared vision of filling a gap in the market for high-quality online strength training workouts.

The concept started as a digital only offering, before the GRNDHOUSE team opened their first in-person studio experience in Paddington, London. The founding team coach many of the classes, and have successfully brought their on-screen charisma into a spacious, impressively-decked out studio and training space.

What Our Evaluator Had To Say

“Our coach explained the exercises concisely and clearly, but also with good detail on form and technique.”

“The sense of brand was clear throughout and it appeared as though no expense had been spared in creating a spectacular training space.”

What To Expect From A GRNDHOUSE Session

GRNDHOUSE brings strength training into a fitness industry still heavily influenced by cardio. With each participant equipped with a Technogym bench and dumbbells, each GRNDHOUSE session is 50 minutes and is led by a motivating, energetic on-stage instructor, enabling them to get a good view of everyone’s form and whether they can go up a weight.

You have three class types to choose from - Strength, which focuses on medium to heavy lifting “with intention”; Sculpt, which uses a mix of bands and light to medium weights for a “deep burn” and Sweat, which is high-volume weightlifting that adds an aerobic element to the strength work.

The lighting effects, controlled by the coach to drop at the right time, as well as curated playlists, complete the experience.

The Reception Service

Our pre-visit call to the branch was handled well by a confident staff member. We felt fully prepared for our session as all our questions had been answered with ease.

On both arrival and departure in the branch, there were no staff immediately present at the front desk, but once they arrived they were friendly and welcoming.

The Class Experience

GRNDHOUSE received The Fit Guide Class Experience Award of Excellence, making it one of London’s stand-out offerings.

The class was overall a very professional and well delivered experience. Our coach had great energy and clearly put a lot into the workout. He paid particularly close attention to form and technique, both individually and to the group.

The coach's energy, the music and the lighting effects contributed to a fun and enjoyable experience.

The Equipment And Studio

The studio was very impressive, with a top quality soundsystem, high end equipment and lighting that wouldn't look out of place in a nightclub. The music and lighting was adjusted by the coach through the session depending on the mood of the class, which added to the experience considerably.

The Facilities And Public Areas

Workout and shower towels were provided free of charge. Lockers were provided with number locks. Free water refill stations were available.

The public areas were very impressive and left a strong impression. The sense of brand was clear throughout and it appeared as though no expense had been spared in creating a very premium and aesthetically pleasing space.

The stretching and Theragun area was an especially nice touch, as was the spacious waiting area. The smoothie bar and cafe, along with the nicely decorated hangout area complete with orange lit IG-photo room, rounded off a world class feel and facility.

Digital And Technology

The booking process was smooth and could be done via the website or the club’s branded app. The website was geared more towards the brand’s online workout offerings which meant we had to dig a little deeper to find information regarding the in-studio sessions.

Their online training platform is extremely impressive and comprehensive, and is presented as their primary offering.
